The Full Musical Experience
We know that the full music experience is more than just notes in a song or beats in a rhythm. Music is also about people. People that make music, people that enjoy music, and people that create businesses around music.
We are focused on creating more than just a great musical learning tool and great software. We are working to capture the full musical experience.
Community is our favorite part of our project. Of course, our software lets our friends interact with each other, but real-person interaction is so much fun!
We’ve started by opening a space in Providence, RI (our home base) that is committed to getting people together to create music projects and music ventures and also enjoy music and people.
Coworking
By day (and some nights), The Garage is a place to build things. From the smallest music project to building a business around music, we hope the Garage is the place you’ll call your workspace. The best part: it’s free. Yes, free.
The space is very large and has six whole areas:
- The Working Area is stationed at the center of the room and can hold about 20 people. Bring your laptop, enjoy the internet and do whatever you gotta do.
- The Building Station is for when you’ve got something to assemble and create. It’s the more
hardcore
working area. We’ve started to build up a good list of items to help you out, but feel free to bring your own. - The Lounge space is equipped with coaches and a foosball table for when you want to chill and take your mind off things.
- The Giant Conference Room is... giant. The table can hold up to 14 people comfortably and has dry erase boards for brainstorming. A projector will be available if you want to get fancy.
- The temporary Pillow Room is...well, you just have to see it. We are, as always, open to other suggestions ;).
- The Event Area is really cool it’s got a stage for hosting all of our events stacked with a PA system, some guitars and amp, a full drum set, and a bass setup. This can be used for presentations and performances. The entire middle space of The Garage can be emptied for large events.
We are looking for an musical or creative people to come in and do awesome things, bottom line. Contact us for more details!
Events
We’ve got the setup to host a ton of different varieties of events to get more and more people. They can include:
- Presentations and instructional sessions - our company grew up by being surrounded with other bright people and mentors that helped all of us. We are going to try to bring in both interesting people to share their knowledge with our community and also give people who’ve done cool things a chance to show off in front of the community.
- Project-building events - these will be longer events similar to hackathons and most notably Startup Weekend. If someone has a good idea for a cool event and the will power to make it happen, we’re happy to hear about it.
- Pre/Post performance events - being literally a 2 minute walk from Fete, one of the coolest music venues ever, means we can get people together before and after free shows to connect and then all go enjoy the events at Fete (many of which are free).
- Tabber Shows - the culmination of our work. They are run similarly to open mic nights where full bands or solo artists can come up and show us their music skills. Tabber will be available to anyone who wants to use it and we hope you do! They start with a DJ reception, then on to live music, then the DJ will play songs you request to end the night. These are going to be a blast. To request to play at Tabber show, drop us a line.

The Olneyville area is one of the most creative parts of Providence and is undergoing rapid restoration in buildings such as ours. We have the original Olneyville NY System (make sure to get it their way) and Fete right in immediate walking distance. The Garage hopes to be the center of this very creative district.
Future of Music Everywhere
The Garage is our first community endeavor and we have many things we can do to expand it and plenty of room available, but we hope, with your help, to open up spaces like this in every city that will promote the full music experience. Contact us if you’d like to see one if your area.
